Has anyone used the Carwell products, especially T-32 for rust conversion?

This company has a fleet service business that has some pretty big clients. They are back east whereas I’m on the west coast. The CP-90 sounds like a bulk version of PBBlaster which I love. The T-32 sounds similar, but not only penetrates rust, it bonds with the good metal.

Looking at their applicator equipment it looks similar to the gun/hose kits that are found on Amazon for rust prevention products.

No such thing as a rust converter, the chemistry does not work..... blasting all the rust out and epoxy primer is the only permeant way to stop rust.

That’s been my experience restoring previous projects. Remove the chance of oxygen getting to the metal and the rust stops. In the past I used PPG’s DP series epoxy primers with good results. I also used Ospho Surface Prep before the primer.

I should have been clearer on the Carwell T-32 product. It says it bonds with the good metal, not converts rust.

“MORE THAN JUST CORROSION CONTROL
T-32 stops rust in its tracks. It will penetrate through exisitng rust and corrosion and create a bond with the good metal. But it is more than just Corrsion Control!. It penetrates and lubricates keeping working parts working year after year. It reduces electircal and electrical wiring breakdowns caused by corroion (a.k.a "greening"). It can be used on virtually any metal and any level of corrosion.”

Sorry, I just don't see how that is possible. Have you ever tried to media blast a seriously rusted piece of metal? I would agree it could be possible for flash rush or surface rust maybe but not rust that is eating away at the metal.

I’m not disagreeing with you, I’m gathering from reading about the product that it is a rust prevention product, not something that changes cancerous rust into something else.
That this product seeps into the deepest crevices and seals (a film) the metal against oxygen prevents rust.

To spend many hours restoring a car only to have rust start appear in areas that aren’t quite protected is a real irritation. Also that this prevents rust from building on bolts and threads would sure make maintenance much easier.

I’m really sorry I made the initial mistake of labeling this a rust converter because I think that has side-railed the conversation.
To sum up, I’m in total agreement with you. This is for rust prevention, not a converter. It is prevention I’m interested in.

My thoughts is, I can get a part like a door stripped, any metal repairs fixed, epoxy primer it, assemble it and spray this on the inside of the shell covering all internal services and moving parts to prevent new rust from starting. Hobby restoration is a slow process and can often take years to finish. This sounds like a good product to keep ahead of tackling new rust from appearing.
