I have a floor mount cassette player in my 71 Road Runner. Is there a patch cord that plugs the cassette player into the radio. Both the cassette deck and radio have plugs but they won't reach so I assume there's supposed to be a cord that attaches them. Thanks for the help.

First off, don't know exactly about the cord. But most systems of the day patched in through the antenna receptacle of the head unit (radio). Unless the radio has a tape player switch mounted, this is how I would imagine it connects, and then a specific frequency is dialed up on the radio, or it overrides all frequencies. If this is the case, there are a number of old FM converters that could contribute the patch cord.

Edit-after reading your post again, if there is a plug to plug setup already there, shouldn't be that hard to change it to connectors readily available and make your own patch cord.

Thanks for the reply. This is a plug to plug set up. But both plugs are a few inches long and will not reach each other once the deck and radio are installed. I figured there must be some kind of 18" patch cord that is available to attach them.
