I was looking for all new felt and am wondering is Cat whisker brand is worth $100 more than PUI?

Seems they are the only 2 companies making these parts and while I have not compared them side by side, the pics seem to show the same quality.

Has anyone ACTUALLY had these two side by side?
Not looking to what your buddy has or what he said, looking for actual knowledge, because looking at the pics (I know you can't tell quality from a pic), that they both seem to be good quality products.

Catwhiskers fit is flawless. Mine had some really light scuffs that I had to get out with 1500 grit, then shine them up to 2500, not a big deal.

I know they fit, wanted to know how the 2 products compared.

I've done a little research on these two companies and trust me you want catwhiskers. From what I've read the fit on the PUIs are horrible and apparently side by side there is a big difference but this is all coming from other posts I've seen on "the other guys" forums

I have heard of defects and fitment issues with CatWhiskers also.

That is why I asked if anyone has done a side by side comparision.

Good thread. I'm in the same place and am getting ready to buy a set for my 73 Roadrunner. Randy, where are you looking at getting them?

Not sure yet, I have seen PUI on ebay for $65 shipped and have Catwhiskers from $165 - 205.

Seems that either nobodies used PUI, might try them and if they are bad, then go to Catwhiskers. Though I read on 3 different threads that the fitment on 73 and 74's is not good for the outers on the rear quarter windows.

Maybe, but that has no bearing on this thread.

Lots of companies make one product good and another is crap.

Just got the PUI felt and I do not know what you PUI haters are looking at, it fits well and the rubber is thick and firm. Only 2 problems I have and I think it is because I got 71-72 kit, are that the outside rear quarter glass pieces are short and the difference is that the stock has a 3/4" extension that the PUI pieces do not and the 71 car I looked at did not have that extension.
Second is that they use cheap screws to connect the trim to the door.
Guess there is a third, but it is more of me being ****, the felt is not as thick as I would prefer. I have never seen a brand new original so I am not sure if I am being fair there.

Well I talked to Dante's today and found out that Cat Whiskers are not in production right now, seems the company that made their rubber went out of business and are now looking for a new supplier.

has anyone checked the PUI site

I just checked the site. Please read what I copied from it. no need to compare PUI to Topcat Whiskers anymore.
