Center console door

Hi all, I bought two older doors for the center console and they both had damage to the hinge nut studs. So I decided to buy a brand new door and nuts. Unfortunately, the nuts just fall on the studs, and I am at a loss as to why they would sell me these nuts that look like acorns and they would not fit. I sent the company a note saying that the nuts did not fit the studs on the door and they said they had never had that problem before and they are a well known vendor on eBay. Did these new doors come with the studs that had threads? What has other people been doing if this has happened to other people as well?

Well I got stumped on this one last summer and had believed Pal nuts were used. But I was corrected and advised that acorn nuts were used originally. The nuts are thread cutting so a new door would not have threads on the studs. Sounds like they sent incorrect size acorn nuts.

Yes acorn nuts. They are smooth and won't cut your hand.

I've seen other nuts but it's a hazard on the digits.
