Can anyone help with info and photos on the way the center link in our 71 Charger is supposed to be positioned? Ours is tilted on the right side and is rubbing on the oil pan. We are thinking it might be on backwards. All the pics I have been able to look up on the net just show the bar on the ground not connected. I can't tell from the pics if I'm looking at it from the front side or back. Thanks.

here is a picture of my 71 Charger R/T underside I used to own

Well, it can only go in one of two ways - as determined by the tapers on the pitman arm and idler. And because of the bends and angles I don't think it can be installed wrong once the engine is in the car.

You say its "tilted" - as in one side of the car versus the other? If so, THAT is definitely an issue. Something's bent or installed incorrectly or maybe the wrong taper on one of the studs (pitman or idler).

A picture's worth a 1000 words !!!

May have the wrong pan or link. 187 pan works great but are hard to source. They're for BB engines and I didn't notice what size engine you have. Have you no clearance at all. You'll either have to replace/modify the pan or if it rubs on the bottom only, shimming the engine a bit higher works.
