There's not a lot of benefits to being a fat guy, but one of them sure is that belly makes it a LOT easier to change gas tanks. :) I just put the straps on the car, slid the tank in until it was on the straps, then lifted the tank and slid under it. My belly held that puppy in place while I bolted up the new J bolts. :)

I did discover one issue. On my old sender, the outlet came out and faced to the rear of the car. On the new one, it comes straight out. This made for some problems with getting the fuel line from the sender to the steel line without kinking and while maintaining clearance from the exhaust.

But... for a few hours work, I now have a nice Steelers themed gas tank, my gas gauge works again, no more rusty crap in the fuel filter, and I even remembered to add my Plymouth Makes It heart decals to the rear of the traction bars. Not a bad day's work. :)

I had the same issue with the new senders and it took me a bit to find the correct one, which by the way, the ones with the straight connection will work, just more difficult with the ground strap then the correct ones. I cant tell you where I got it because it isn't in my rebuild notes. Anyways, glad you got her all straightened out!
