He was the lead singer of Linkin Park witch is a band. They have very unique music alot of there music is in movies they did alot of songs based on movies like transformers . There music is a light rock /alt it's not bad I'll listen to it here and there. Shame he did what he did . He had money family everything guess it's true money doesn't buy happiness! Shame he and Chris Cornell offed themselves instead of getting help. I understand that Chester was abused as a kid and this lead to major problems with drugs and alcohol.

Biggest problem I have is this reinforces depressed kids' desire to commit suicide.

Thats what im worried about. Linkin park was a major part of the sound track of my generation. (Chris cornell was too) And have stayed majorly relavent. They were just at number 2 on the charts in a duo with some popular pop girl. So unlike chris cornell, nows hes got a bunch of young fans. And could definitely be a negative inspiration

The local library at San Jose State had 2 jump to their deaths from a second floor atrium or some such. Answer? 2 million dollars to put up a railing or barrier. Taxpayers pay for that too. Just walk into traffic. Instant death. Gonna line the sidewalks with walls? Anything possible here. Taxpayers will pay for that too. He had lots of tats, maybe the excessive ink seeped in and made him nuts. Don't know him or the music but does not appear to be a poster boy for a generation.

Depression is a disease of the mind and as such, it causes diseased thinking. You can't expect people with deep depression to think rationally. That's why they need help.

My wife and 'her' oldest both take drugs for depression. My wife has been on the same crap for a very long time and I really think it's not working anymore. I brought it up a year ago but her doctor said it's working because she's fine. How the hell does he know if she's fine or not. He's not the one living with her....

Well, too many are victims because they choose to be but until you've lived with someone that has mild or even more severe mental problems, you just don't know. I've seen people on LSD act better than some who need help and are not on any kind of drug.

Whoa there fellas, let's tap the brakes here a sec. here's an example: Few months ago I noticed a student was sort of 'off'. Dressing dark, acting dark. So I had a couple of his classmates keep an eye on him on Instagram where he's pretty active. Everything was super dark, not that he was going to commit suicide... all his posts said that he already did. As someone had put it, the boy was writing his own epitaph.

So we were lucky - we got him some help and he opened up about his issues and was relieved actually. He needed help and he accepted it... so far.

All I'm saying is that depression is confusing to people who suffer from it. Their thoughts get diseased and they start to believe it. It takes friends and family (and a person willing to accept help).

Tax money wasn't saving this dude.

Well I have battled with depression most of my life and I don't want your damm money and won't take the Russian Roulette of pills the drug companies lie to us about.
Have never thought about offing myself though.
Don't judge until walking in the shoes.

My Ex-wife killed herself 2 years ago. She had a really bad childhood and I guess at the age of 54 she couldn't deal with the demons in her head anymore.
