Can anyone tell me about this punch card that came with my Road Runner when i bought it new?

That is part of the initial paperwork . It has all the build information for your car, but it needs to be decoded. I think it is unusual to find this with your car. It was used to generate the fender tag and broadcast sheet etc. Good find!

Found a couple of them when I was parting cars in the 70's....didn't keep em though. Who knew!

This card is different than the ones from earlier years. Notices this style doe not have options listed in columns like the pre 68 cards. This is not the card you are thinking of.

It does contain body and trim codes as well as administrative codes.

This card is not, particularly, unusual to find.

Great if you have an old '70's IBM computer, FORTRAN 4 and it's card reader. I still have some card programs, but I can't for the life of me remember how to code a card. LOL

No no you guys are all way off... You put that thing into one of those old player pianos and it plays all the Looney Tunes music..

I used to work on a huge all-in-one dry cleaning machine that used those. Sure would be nice to see that thing spit out a squeaky clean Road Runner....

Not the same as the pre 68 IBM cards but each punch is information.
Two sets of numbers needed:
The bottom row of numbers (which is also close to the top).
The numbers on the sides.

Each punch hole corresponds to the side numbers.
Combined with the numbers on the bottom to get the complete code.
Also, look at punch holes from top to bottom. If there are 2 punches in a single column that would be a letter, not a number, or 2 codes with the same two digit prefix.

Column 57-66 is 3524652670 number typed at the top.
Columns 67 and 68 have 2 punch holes in each. These represent RM.
Columns 69 and 70 have punches at 2 and 3, which gives you RM23, which is also typed right above at the top.
1896674 at the top right is punched out right below it.

Columns 45-47 are the trim code, 2 letters with a 4 in the middle.

Not sure if specific options are listed, but follows a similar pattern to the pre 68 buildcards.

I see the 420 date and the sequence 511587 starting at column 18.

There are two sets of punches that go from 9-1, probably place holders.

If any match a buildsheet or fender tag code, like the pre 68 buildcards, you would see some obvious ones. For example, 691 was an ordered car, which would be a punch in column 69 at row 1.

Make a photocopy, draw some lines with a ruler making rows and columns and see what you see.

I sent off to FCA (Chrysler) and they sent me a copy of the original which they had on microfilm.

Wow, thank you
