Went and looked at this car today. Wife gave me the too many toys/projects speech, so I won't be picking it up.

As the ad implies...1971 Dodge Demon.

Right now it has a 273 w/auto on the column. Comes with another 273 block. So, not original. Body will need quarter skins, rockers and lower fenders patched. Will need the front valance either fixed or replaced (dented). It will also need new rear pans, the trunk pan replaced or patched, extension panels and outer wheelhouse work. Frame it will need the shackle mounts replaced as well as the torsion bar crossmember. Other than that, frame looks real solid. Car comes with an extra pair of solid doors, extra column, extra dash, extra set of seats and all the trim. Factory color was gold w/light tan interior. Guy selling it seems real decent.

Just tossing it out there if anyone is looking for a cheap Demon..

Will, I can't believe the wife told you that, since you're almost done with your bird. Tell her it's either car projects or building bird(pun intended)houses. That is a good price for that car. If I didn't have so many myself, I'd go for it.

Well Roger......She's the brains of the operation and tends to keep me on the straight and narrow. I already have (2) B-Bodies to take care of. Would like to tackle this Demon project, but for the time being it might put me over the top as far as space, time and money constraints. Never the less, it would be a fun project to take on. Not as rotten as my bird was, but still plenty of nitty gritty rust to have fun removing and replacing. On the other hand, i'm thinking a nice A-Body would look pretty good sitting in your stable.

Will, did it have a fender tag? What was the original engine?

Jay,

Yes it has a fender tag...I didn't decode the VIN, believe he said originally a 318.

Cool find Prop, would definitely be a fun project and sharp ride.

Just last weekend a friend of mine picked up a "Sizzler" package Demon project, hemi Orange, black interior with hemi Orange accents. Really cool and different thing to see but I guess he's planning on just flipping the car as is. It'd be cool to see one finished.

Sounds like a cool ride your buddy picked up....Kinda neat how they painted the outskirts of the grill on them. Oh I gotta get a hat like the dude in the picture. Looks like a flower pot...lol

Yeah I had never even heard of that promotion, supposedly only 1100 ish were built. I thought that was cool too, and that body color blob at the front of the hood blackout is "sizzler" in a font extremely similar to Slayer's band logo lol

Ah the classic reverse flower pot, apparently gets all the female attention out on the slopes.

Yeah, I'm hearing that lately too...LOL, Throw in some yellow tights stolen off of Big Bird and crank up Reign in Blood on the old 2Watt....Walla, all the Farrah Fawcett's you can handle.

Holy hell I didn't even notice those were tights! Hahahaha
Don't forget grandma's sweater and your mechanics gloves.

Alright ladies, come and get it. :icon_cool:

Haven't you ever heard the term "It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission?"

Tip: if you use it on her make sure your health insurance premium is paid up first.
