Anyone have their premium go up. I have Hagertys it went up by 30 dollars a year. To some that might not seam that much. But I was going to see about raising the insured value of the car since I've done so much work to it. But that would raise the premium even higher.

I just got a quote from Hagerty for $50k agreed value - $1009 annual premium. I almost peed in my pants. Thought that was ridiculous. Modified vehicle, driven maybe 1000 miles a year. Well then I quoted Heacock - same criteria - $397 per year. What am I missing!! Is Hagerty that far out of line with some of the others. I know they're the biggest name in classic car ins - but that's ridiculous.

Makes me wonder... I have two cars with them and pay $200/year, but my agreed upon value is less than $10k for each car. I was going to up my Plymouth... maybe now I should think about shopping around again.

J C Taylor Upper Darby, Pa. No increase.

I think a lot depends on were a person lives, Here in the middle of the corn patch 15K agreed value through hagerty is $135.00 per yr on my 67.

I've got two @$20K and two @$10K with Hagerty, in the middle of Hail Hell, USA for $430/yr.

Thank's guys, I'm still working on mine, but the insurance "thing" is in the back of my mind! Those of us that have collectables need these figures to compare rates.

I have mine at a stated value of 99,000.00 and my premium is 245.00 per year. I think variables include, other cars insured, home owner, how many car garage, where you live, detached garage, other collector cars, age, etc...

I have 15k on my Duster through Hagerty and its $147 a year. Proven it is garaged makes a big difference.

In NC, I have my car on a $45K policy for $345 from Hagerty's. No problems, fair price, top company for old cars.

Some issues that make a difference. Is wether or not the car is modified vs. pure stock. Secure garaging is a criteria. Drivers having other cars to drive besides the classic. Various other odds and ends. I look at all of the above and I still don't get the $1009 premium. I'm sure I can find a half dozen companies less than that for comparable coverage. My cars not quite done yet so I scouting the market place for the right fit of coverage and cost.

Hagerty is a rip off, I was trying to sign up for the 69 RR, we put a 50k value on the car following the complete resto-mod, they said $636 yr initially, when I agreed, they saw I used my comprehensive to get a windshield replaced on my wrangler and one ticket in 40 yrs and had a fit. They raised the price to over 936 yr. I told them to pack sand. 20150504_084140.jpg

I had a tornado claim with Hagerty on four vehicles I owned back in 2003. Three were totaled and one was repairable. They came out two days after I notified them of the loss, and I had a check for all four cars two days later. I like Hagarty a lot!

Far better than the fools at USAA, whom I had to take to the State Insurance Commission for arbitration, after they offered $2,200 for a $7,500 loss on another vehicle I had at that time. USAA sucks in every way imaginable!
