Just a warning here... only do this if you have lots of spare time to kill because it is addictive. :)

I found out you can go on Google News, and do a search for your local newspaper and see scanned in papers from years gone by. I went through some issues of The Pittsburgh Press and The Pittsburgh Post Gazette from the 1960s and 1970s tonight and found some cool Mopar ads from back in the day...

cool old advert.'s Bruzilla, I check out stuff like that allot too, can spend hrs looking at & reading vintage stuff & photos...

I was reading an article from 1967 about plans to create a super aerial tanker fleet to get oil out of Alaska because building a pipeline would be too impractical. :) It's pretty cool to read through those old papers and remember how we lived back then. You could buy six loaves of bread for .99, but a 24" TV would set you back twice what they sell for today. :)

I hear ya on those prices, Bruzilla. Like that Duster ad up above from 1974. $49.90 for an AM radio? That was 12 hours pay for me that year. Now, 12 hours pay will give me an in dash DVD/GPS touch screen combo with a back-up camera and 200 watts. I love reading those ads though.

I paid 350.00 for a 19" Sony color TV in 1984. I made 800.00 a month

I paid $799, at a Navy Exchange, for a 32" TV in 1987, and just bought a 32" TV for my son for Christmas last year for $249. :)

Those are neat. The one from Pleasant Hills is where i'm from now. I live 1 min away from the place. It's now called Pleasant Hils Chrysler Dodge jeep. Burgunder is about 15 min from me also.
