Cleaning Tires

After using tire dressing (all brands) and getting build-up sticky and browning, what are you using to CLEAN the rubber that won't harm aluminum rims ??

simple green 50/50 with water and a good scrub brush...NO dressing
 
Thanks guys,Today I did the above suggestions.Looks like I'll have to do it several times but they are getting clean.
 
Isn't simple green safe to clean the wheels with also?

I have NOT cleaned aluminum rims with it; but i wouldn't see why not.

if somebody has had any experience with it, i'm sure they will chime in. :D
 
I read in a few motorcycle mags that simple green is harsh to aluminum,but I would guess that would be full strength.Too chicken to try...
