Do you need different trim or clips (windshield & drip rail) for a viynal top car or are they all the same?? For some reason I thought there was a differance, but I may have inhaled to much paint stripper lately too:3gears:

Vinyl top drip rail trim is a bit wider. The front/rear window trim & clips are the same. Vinyl top drip rail trim will have a greenish stripe/tint on the inside. The inside measurement of non-vinyl top drip rail trim is about .050" more narrow than the vinyl trim. I know the repop stuff will still fit on either, but not sure on using original non-vinyl trim on a vinyl top. Also, be sure you get the correct c-pillar trim for Plymouth. The '68-70 Dodge Vinyl top C-pillar trim is about an inch longer. That trim is specific to make.

Thanks! Glad I'm not losing my mind! I have all my trim, but wasn't sure about the clips. Had the black beast out yet? If you ever make it to the strip, I'd like to hear the results!

No not as of yet '69. Still hibernating in the garage like a black bear... Just got a couple more inches of snow and is was 10F this morning. Seems like spring will never be here. Didn't have much time to get to the track last year, but did get to go twice with a friend/co-worker that runs Super Street class all over the country. I struggled a bit (especially dialing in the Cal-Trac's), but best was 10.82 @ 124MPH with MT ET Drag Radials. Walked away feeling like a hero till seeing him pull mid 10's with a 340 '68 barracuda (spruced up of course).:eusa_wall:

That's very respectful first time out. I have found with all the things I've raced that it takes a year to really get em tuned in. Biggest help is only adjust one item at a time so you don't get lost in the process. Oh and keep good notes! Can you let me know how you set your cal tracs up? I'll be putting mine on soon I hope.

Thanks '69! I hope to improve. It was a good learning lesson and a wake-up call to just how ignorant I'm to the drag racing seen. But, all a guy can do is keep at it and learn. I went off the base line setting from the Cal-Trac's directions. I started with 0 Preload with the spring pins just barely resting on the top the leaf. From there it was a matter of adjusting preload against the direction she wanted to launch. Word of warning, they are very sensitive. A 1/3 of a turn will make a big noticeable difference.
