Not too hard to test the electrical if you have the back cover off for a visual check. They're all powered by a relay with a spring on the armature. If the contacts are open, a quick 12v to the wire and case to ground should produce a click. If it does not, the relay coil is burnt, which makes it quite a bit harder.

You don't even have to look for 12 volts, a rectangular 9V transistor radio battery will do the job.
