Well I just installed a new clutch and my pedal only wants to come halfway up when I let off it. Installed a B&B type setup from Mcleod and re attached overcenter spring. Adjusted it to where It has enough free play. I played around with adjusting it way tight so and was able to get the pedal to return all the way to the top, but car would not go into gear, just grinding noise. I played around for hours tryin to figure this out and need advice. why would it not go into gear, can you over push the clutch?

Disconnect the linkage and start checking the components separately. And don't get your hand under the pedal when it's not hooked up and the over center spring is installed! Also check the bell crank for free movement and for possible binding when the rods are hooked up.
