Has anyone used anything on polished alum trim. to seal it? I have my trim sanded & all polished up. Wondering if anyone has successfully used anything that looked good and didn't need touched up again.
Don't bother. I have redone trim and had it anodized and left some plain. Polish once a year stays nice. I have some done 13 years ago, can't tell the difference.

I did a set of aluminum wheels and all I did was keep them clean and waxed them from time to time. Usually used Mothers' aluminum polish but most of the time they just got some wax and they stayed nice for the 20 years or so that I had them.
I have heard too many bad things about using a clear coat type of product on aluminum trim. When I stripped the grill on my 63 I polished it and just maintain it with a good metal polish. Lately I have been using Flitz. I have seen Sharkhide used as a protective coating but haven't used it. Just my 2 cents worth.
I have used Sharkhide on all my polished aluminum and SS trim as well as my wheels. Follow instructions and it works great. Sharkhide has a web site(google it) that is pretty informative. I did my satellite 3+ years ago and still looks new.
My powder supplier recently unveiled what is being marketed as "The World's Strongest Clear Coat." I have a sample here but haven't tried it yet; I need a .8 mm tip for my HVLP gun first but I'm very anxious to see how it does. I do quite a bit of polishing.
