Just purchased a Hurst Competiton Plus Shifter mechanism to replace my old factory one, my question is has anyone bought one and will your factory linkage shafts work with the new shifter mechanism. Going into a 68 Coronet RT

I did that very thing for my 68 RR more than 30 years ago; Competition Plus shifter, factory linkage. It's like that to this day. Drilled a hole in the original stick so it would bolt in. I wouldn't tell anyone else to do that, but it was just a beat up old hot rod then and I just wanted to drive it. It still is and that's still all I wanna do.

Bought one 10 years ago no problem. You have a choice bronze bushings or nylon. Back off the stops some before install. Adjust after install.

I always thought that the comp plus had bushings , the factory didn't.

Yep, get the bushings from Brewers.
