I know about there stroker kits , I haven't heard anything about there factory replacement rods, that's why I'm asking if anybody was using them . Seems like anytime you buy parts from anybody you have to rework them to fit . Seems like today norm is if it's close enough there good enough .I understand that some time you have to. This is to all the manufacturers out there , it takes the same amount time to make a part to fit as a part that don't fit .

I like 440 Source. Used a set of their factory replacement rods once. I will not use those rods again.

I have a set in my 71's 440 I used to replace the heavy six pack rods. Had the machine shop check them out and they said they were good to go. I went with new ARP bolts for them to be safe. Have not fired the engine yet so no run time on them.

Buy the time you have them reworked , ARP bolts and such you will almost can buy a new set and you still have a set of 50 year old rods , Don't know about metal fatigue on old rods either , don't want 6 pak rods , to heavy . Might still have my LY rods redone if I can't find something else . Don't want to spend 700 dollars on rods for a mild street build . 440 Source replacement rods seem like what I was looking for , that's why I was asking about them .

I have ran a set for 5 years now, 440 with mild hydraulic cam that I don't rev too high.

It's possible rods were made in same factory as better known brands. Took a chance, price was too tempting and it's still together and running.

Trust me when I say that after you have to throw away most or all of you new engine because a rod let loose you are going to wish that you had pulled the trigger on a decent set of aftermarket rods!

Ok. You still have a 50 year old crank and block so age doesn’t matter to them?

Well, I'll be the voice of decent then. Nothing wrong with the LY rods, good forgings, with good, possibly better metallurgy than that coming from overseas. I do agree with having them mag fluxed, and ARP bolts installed, but just because something is new doesn't necessarily make it better/stronger. If you are worried about strength, then Eagle makes some decent rods for around $500.

I used To Shift My 426 Hemi , Stock Rod Motor At 9grand!
Never Had a Problem ….

Of Course , MPI Inspect , Size ,
ARP Bolts , Shot Peen , Balance!

I got a brand new in the box set of premium Rod bolts for my hemi ….. brand new….I MPI
Inspected them anyway. ….
Found A Brand New Rod Bolt
With A Crack !!! It would have lost its torque & let go had I not
Checked it !!!

prepare , inspect & prepare again….
