What kind of key opens the console and glove box locks? I thought it was just the first half of the cut of the regular trunk key that opened these and was going to take the locks to a locksmith to see if they could be keyed the same as the trunk lock. Then I tried to put the trunk key into the console and glovebox lock and it did not seem to fit at all. Do these take a different type of key?

Cheaper to buy new locks than to have rekeyed? Anyone have source of keyed alike locks or just plain push button unkeyed console and glovebox latches?

Thanks!

Don

I bought a NOS lock for glovebox, it was a special smaller key

bought mine at Herb's parts. cant remember how much though

70 GTX, trunk key locks my glove box and console.
I just went out and tried them both (haven't locked either in years), all original keys and locks in my car.
Not sure how 67's where keyed but i'm guessing they didn't give you three keys with the car.

The owner's manual says the round headed key should work in these locks. I think I will take the locks and key to a locksmith before I spend $100 on new locks. I know the trunk lock was changed at some time, so I know the key I have won't work.
