I have a console clock that I want to use and I'm not sure of the wiring. It has a purple wire, gray wire and white wire. I cannot find any wiring diagrams, hope somebody can help.
If my memory Serves me correctly it's a 66 year clock with EL lighting , it should be purple-power ,gray-ground ,white-light. Very simple to check pop the clock open see we're the wires connect too.
Thanks again for the help. I did take it apart after trying to get it to work. It must be a 66, the white wire goes directly to the hands, for EL. The purple to the case and gray to the clock. I lightly oiled it, got the clock to run if I manually work the solenoid, cleaned the points, but still nothing, maybe my old train transformer does not have enough power for the solenoid ?
I have a 66 clock (EL) in my 67. Just tapped off the white wire under the dash for the radio and ran a seperate wire down under the console.
But mine was frozen the same way. I sent it away and had quartz movement put in so I never had to worry about teh points sticking again.
You have to get it fixed anyway, for a few extra bucks, THE way to go! And it's inside, you'll never notice the difference.
