My console doors posts are stripped and the acorn nuts will not tighten. A reproduction door costs $250.00 and would like to either repair mine or buy a NOS stock one if they are available. Does anyone know the part number for the door itself?
Thanks again,
Mark

The Stephens Performance tech said that he has used a smaller nut to recut the posts, but they are easily broken. I was looking for a NOS part to weigh the price of it versus the reproduction. I will most likely try to repair mine if a NOS part in not available. Any ideas of a NOS stash of console doors?

How about trying some thick washers below the nuts. Sometimes they get to the bottom and spin a groove. By raising them off the original surface, you might be able to get into some new "meat" on the posts and get them to tighten. That may be less of a risk of breaking them off.

The acorn nuts are pretty much useless as they are too thin. I found a source for NOS parts and ordered a new console door. Hopefully it is NOS and not some piece of China. Thanks,
Mark

build up the stud diameter with JB weld epoxy, let it dry, then screw it down?

What is the difference between part number 2656184 (printed on box) and the stamped number 2589538 on the NOS console door? The NOS door is unfinished without the wood grain decal, black painted sides and the post are not cut. My original door has part #2589538 like the NOS door, but has the wood grain decal.
