This winter the plan is to put some ProCar low back buckets in the 67' Belvedere. Its currently a column shift bench car.

Still on the fence about going to a stock console and shifter , stock console with aftermarket shifter or just a floor shifter and no console.

Thoughts? Pictures?

Nice 66-70 B-Body console ain't cheap, especially nice chrome parts & complete, by the time you get all the stock linkages shifter, door & console you can easily have $500-$1000 or more tied up in them, then you need a floor shift type column to look the parts too another $150-$500... I like the looks of a stock type console, with an aftermarket cable operated, gated or ratchet shifter installed like a TCI, B&M, Turbo Action, or some other brand shifter, I've been looking for an inexpensive console for my 68 RR RM23, preferably a 68 GTX console, but any 66-70 B-Body console would do for my purpose... I put ProCar/Scat Elite 1100 Buckets in a year & a half or so ago, the cheapest console I've found was $350 no shifter, no linkage, no lock, no carpet & side trim, no wire harness, but had nice condition & good chrome, in decent repainted condition, I have a B&M Quicksilver shifter already to put in one, if I can ever find a nice one, for a reasonable price some day, I too think I will just go with the Quicksilver shifter & it's supplied cover when I finally move my shifter to the floor, I have other stuff I have been spending my hard earned cash on lately, the RR is suffering from neglect... You can get a reproduction one for about $1200 after you piece it all together, from someone like Mancini Racing or other suppliers, I had not checked on the cost of the original shifter & linkage portions, because I didn't want or need one...

take a look at turbo action, there shifter covers look like a small console.(the one without all the switches)plus its a great shifter.$350 gets the whole pacage.

I'm considering making a buddy seat with a fold down back with cup holder & an arm rest, for long trips, that I probably won't ever go on...LOL..., but it would fill the space a little better & use the B&M Quicksilver Ratchet Shifter with it's supplied cover & my custom= fuel pump, fan & aux fan, water pump, 4 switch panel, I made, added into it some were maybe...

If I go for an aftermarket shifter I was looking at the Turbo Acton or the Precision Performance Kwick Shift. Never hear much about the PPP one though sure looks nice.

How hard are the console brackets to find?

BTW how do you like the Procar seats?
