i have a 73 dodge charger, 318 with automatic, currently building a 360. it has a 904 auto, i want to convert it to a 4 speed or 5 speed if possible. who has experience? what all parts would i need to complete the job? did these come with pistol grips?

Yes on the pistol grips.
I'm doing a 4 speed conversion I bought all the needed parts off elitevintageauto.com
Joe is great he sells a nut and bolt kit or just parts new and used he is now in fl. I may have a list of the needed parts I'll have to go look it's a fairly easy task to do the conversion the worst part is getting the parts

Give my guy a call first that kit on brusters isn't complete I got everything for a little more you could just ask for a basic kit and your price will definitely be cheaper then the big companies .

Joe is in fact a great guy.

His prices are almost half of what Brewer's wants, but....he doesn't take paypal.

I've been scrounging parts for a conversion myself, and only lack a bell housing at this point.

It's been almost two years, but between ebay, FxBO and the aforementioned Joe at elitevintageauto,I've saved a crapload.
