I have a mild built 383, auto, and 323 sure grip with 26inch tall tires. I need a converter that will allow some "fun" but not get too hot going down the road. Also this is for an A body.

Get a hold of a decent converter MFG like Coan, PTC, Dynamic ect..ect.. and fill out a spec sheet or talk with a tech and specify all the known's of your car. There's a lot of variables that go into picking an appropriate converter....a bunch more than you have listed. Avoid the off the shelf stuff, and open up the wallet..don't skimp. I run a PTC..happy with it, good folks. Good luck!

Alright, I'll call those companies/people listed and go from there.
