Old car lover - first time redoing convertible top myself. Some perplexing stuff but working through it. Stuck on one part maybe someone can send a photo or provide some guidance.

The 1965 Dodge Coronet 440 convertible didn't have the rear window or back section of top so didn't have good reference point. I can't figure out how the tack strip mounts to the back trunk area. I watched some videos that bolted it but don't see how something bolts into the coronet trunk. I drilled some of my own holes but and made my own tack strip. yes, as you can imaging, not very good. So I need the right tack strip (where can I get that?) and a photo of what it's supposed to look like.

Thanks--
Chappy

I’m working on a 64 Polara convertible, so I’m not sure if our two cars are the same or not.

By ‘tack strip’, are you referring to the chrome/ stainless steel strip that one edge of the boot attaches to? On my car, the boot snaps down onto the trim located just before the trunk opening and then the other edge of the boot slides into a stainless steel strip which is attached to the top part of my upper seat back.

I can provide some pics if we’re talking about the same thing.

welcome
