It is a sad day, a fine crew member of the COPS reality show was shot while officers responded to an Armed Robbery In Omaha. it is a terrible thing, and the worthless chump that aimed a CO2 pistol (airlite) at officers is also dead.

sad for sure, my deepest condolences goes out to all the people effected by this truly sad tragedy...

That truly is sad and a terrible thing to happen.

Cops has been on for 20 years or more? As tragic as it is, I dont recall ever hearing of anything happening to the film crew before. Thats pretty amazing it hasn't happened before. Like the film crew for deadliest catch? Have any of those guys ever died?

Scum Parolee. Probably some Liberal Judge had a hand in it. Out here, Jerry Brown is emptying the prisons and opening the Border. We're cooked.

Corrected for accuracy.

The irony of the story is that the police chief of that county asked "cops" to do the filming because they have been getting a bad rap latley...

Why would you have a shoot out with a person, that has a gun that shoots plastic balls?

Have you seen those airsoft guns? They look real and given a police officer has maybe a couple seconds at most to make a decision, would you have done anything different?

I have absolutely no sympathy for these idiots pulling airsoft, bb, or pellet guns that look like the real thing. If they get shot I consider it to be an educational experience for them. I have a real nice Crossman pellet pistol that looks exactly like a .357 Magnum that I use for varmints around the place. If I pulled it on a cop I would expect to be perforated.

Well the dumb *** kid should have surrendered, knowing damn well he had no chance using an air gun. Useing a fake gun for the hold up is one thing but a shoot out with the cops is just plain stupid!
They stated that he shot first, and it even sounded like a real gun. Most air guns have a pop sound, not a bang like a percussion. But they did as they were trained. How many times have you heard of an officer shooting someone for not putting a knife down, when they were told to do so.
If it sounded to me like a real gun, I would have blown him away too!
Where was the concern for the risk of injuring the "sound guy"?
I guess they will change their policys for where these guys are allowed to be during an arrest. I've watched many of these episodes and have wondered about the safety of the film crew...

The film crew puts themselves in these situations. The Police officer did nothing wrong. It was an accident.

Sad to hear this and I never miss an episode of the show.Police Officers are not appreciated they way they should be. They have to put up with the worst enemy anyone can have.. A fellow citizen. A shame.. Peopl should take a minute out of their day and say thank you to the LEO... I do.
