I have a 77 Cordoba and so far haven't been able to find a build sheet in it. I have taken out all the seats, looked under the carpet, and had most of the dash apart and no luck. I was just curious if anyone else with a 75-79 Cordoba, Charger, or Magnum have found them and where. All these cars were built in Windsor, so maybe they didn't use them?

my 77 charger build sheet was under the passenger side front carpet almost next to the console. they came with them. look under the package tray, i also found one behind my backseat

Somebody suggested to try above the headliner or in the doors, but I wanted to see if those were common places before I went tearing into them. Every other old car I've had (GM cars) I've found them, and I wanted to keep the streak going. Especially since I have the window sticker and dealer paperwork for this one.

if you have the bucket seats and they have the hard back, check inside there.I have heard some people have found them there too.

My question is why? Why are they not always in the same place? Was this
some kind of game for these workers? Let's see if I can find a new place each
time I tuck these dam things???!! WTF! LOL?!

well, i guess when you work the assembly day after day you have to have some kind of entertainment.

lol...and how did ones for other cars get in there? Why diid somebody carry them around and stick them in a car further down the line?

And, a lot of them are found under the seat springs. Who went to the trouble to stuff them under the seat springs?

I'm guessing that if there were two of the same color, same style seats in the "parts bin", that the line worker just grabbed the closest one.

Also, I've read that the EPA or someone mandeted that any paper in 77-ish production cars had to be fire-retardant, and of course it was easier to simply ask QC to make sure the sheets were removed, than to buy fire-retadant paper and refit the sheet printers.

This is the first time ive heard of headliner, These cars are old and i don't think i would start to look under mine, im afraid to clean it let alone try finding a sheet under it.. Just my 2 cents, but i wouldn't really suggest it unless your replacing it.

That would make sense. I did find some brown craft paper under the front carpet by the firewall that looked like it was backing paper for something.

I remeber when I was in high school a buddy of mine had a Volare and one day he looked under the trunk mat and found a buch of pieces of paper cut out to say 'Volare', they were the peel off backings for the trunk name plates and I guess somebody must of had a bunch in their hand and threw them in the trunk of that car.

These cars used the one piece fiberboard headliners. They are a lot better than later headliners because they don't sag and are pretty sturdy. But, it will still be a PITA to take down, so I'll definately look everywhere else first.

It is supposed to be cooler here this weekend, or at least the low 90's will feel cooler. So, I think I might make it my mission too.

I found 4 build sheets in my Doba. One stuffed behind the springs of the top back seat and 3 others in different places of the floor boards under the carpet.

Over the weekend I took out the rear quarter trim and felt down into the fenders, took down the front part of the headliner, and took off the drivers door panel and no luck any where. The only places left are the back part of the headliner, the passenger door, and under the rear package shelf. I don't think I will try any of those until I need to take them apart for something else. I guess there probably just isn't one in the car.
