Can someone let me know what the correct finish is for a trunk latch for a 1970 Charger. My latch was painted body color for as long as I've owned the car. I redid it body color during the restoration. My latch recently seized up and I purchased a new one. I'm not sure if I should paint it or leave it bare. Also the stationary latch that is bolted to the trunk, should it be painted or finished natural?

Thanks

The latches I have seen from the era have been clear zinc or cad plated (silver in color). It's possible some yellow zinc or cad was used but I don't recall. The striker most likely was body color - at least that's what it is on my 69 RR.
