im looking at a car for sale this weekend, low mileage and says all original but the interior looks original but has the bucket seat console and the bucket seats have the middle 1" wide or so scroll looking pattern in middle of seat. I have only seen that in belvederes. am I wrong? was this an option interior? I have even looked at year one and they didn't show it. any help guys? not sure this would make or break the sale but id like to know if original or not, may effect price.

dont know about options, but I have the same 67 coronet 500 and mine dont have that, the seams go straight across. would like to see some pictures of the car.

That is not correct, it is from a Plymouth. Doesn't make it a bad car though. That looks like a nice car. It was talked about else where and got thumbs up from everyone.

this car was talked about elsewhere? or switching interior? this is from an estate sale little old lady 55k miles kinda car... its hard to believe someone would change it out. I have decoded the vin# and it states coronet 500 273 v8 which the car is... I have not done the fender tag though and will when I look at car.
could this be a rare option from factory? etc..? yeah I like it and most probably wouldn't care or notice, just makes me think twice about price and rest of car being legit.

Seat covers are from a 67 Satellite or GTX.

The wheel centers are not correct either. Are they "Magnum 500" centers? Those would be aftermarket, but possibly period correct. Gramma must have liked shiny chrome wheels.

...and door jamb switch for dome light has been painted.

...with overspray on A pillar trim.

front seats are western scroll pattern familiar to satellite and GTX in 67. I have a 67 R/T and like that pattern better than the stock 500/R/T cover. Rear seat should be stock though as the satellite and GTX had a large center emblem not familiar or fitting to a 500?r/t car

Seats are Sat. for sure! What does the rear seat look like? I don't know about the wheels! I know they were available as an option for the R/T, The 500? Not sure if the 273 was still available in 67 either! Still not a bad ride!

vin tag says 273 it was an option
back seat is identical to fronts, same scroll and looks well aged etc... if someone changed them out it must have been 20+ years ago...I dunno. or could someone order it like that from factory? as a special request? just weird. not a big deal but just weird.
yeah car has had one repaint.
the center caps have three little red triangle looking thingys...not sure what is "correct" for these.
they are 14's that's all I know. could be fords?
thanks for input guys... all good things to chat about when I go look at car.

Hmmm, both cars that came with that back seat scroll work (Sat and GTX) had the fiberglass seat fascia with the "faux" bucket beackrest look- NOT the standard flat across seat back..

Did someone make that back seat cover??? Got a pic of that?

Fender tag will tell the wheels IIRC. Chrome "Magnums" were available, but IIRC had the white cap insert.

i don't have pic of back seat but I have it in a video I could email you....
send me your email and I can send, see what you think. you will have to pause it torward the end but you get a good look at it. looks factory.

ssssss.jpghere is tag. can someone help here. I started a new thread in general tech section also asking for fender tag help.

It's supposed to have a white interior (P6W)

well...white and black...that explains the seats.

Also looks like white vinyl top.

At least for 66-67 cars you don't have to do body work to add or remove a vinyl top.

I would go to Legendary and look at the samples they have for your year.

one thing tag does point out that it was special ordered car for someone. also thet number (5) in lower bottom area of tag, the charger site you go to to decode this tag says there shouldn't be a number under there and if there is to contact them they have never seen it. so dunno...lol. maybe a coronet/charger difference.

so aslong as these seats fit and look factory and in great shape then I shouldn't have an issue with these changes to the car. it already has one repaint, someone put headers on it and the different wheels...so its not 100% stock anyways.

so probably it had white seats, with white and black carpet at bottom door panels...
eeeesh...be hard to keep clean. never been a fan of white seats. and yellow with a white vinyl top....never seen that combo on a coronet I don't think.

It looks great as is.

I call that the "cowboy" interior.

Be sure to check it for the usual 66-67 rust issues- in back of rear wheels, above rear wheels, under rear windshield (in trunk), around C pillar to quarter seams, bottoms of fenders and doors, frame between shocks and firewall, T bar cross member.

...so you will have a matching pair of "R" yellow cars?

awesome advice thanks. I will look at all those spots...I usually look them over pretty good. no unfortunately I sold my yellow 66 belvedere...hated to sell it, needed money, miss it, got a tad emotional when I sold it. so this one if it works out will replace what I should have never sold and I think im upgrading a little to a coronet 500. always loved the coronets. plus being bucket seats and console and my other was not. my 66 belvedere was yellow with green interior....look like a john deere lol.

They must have made a whole bunch of those Plymouths in yellow/green.

There are two of them within 50 miles of my house.

I've seen earlier cars in yellow with red interior, but I've never seen yellow with blue.

Hope it works out for you.

My 67 has this interior. I believe it is original.

Tekhouse- I'm STILL in LOVE with that car.

Sure you won't just ship it to me???

UncleDon- Did you get the car?

:) Right now, with it being minus 20 Celsius in Finland, I go to my garage every few days (it's heated), to start her up..And sit there..thinking about warmer weather.
