Correct oil filler / breather cap on '69

Was there a proper cap for a '69 road runner 383 / 4spd. I have seen both chrome and black. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to which car has which. At first I thought it appeared manual brakes had black ones but then i found some with chrome. I am going to pick one up today and the guy has both styles. Just wondering which would be "the most" correct or if it could have had either for any particular reason.

My '69 Super Bee (Dodge twin to your RR) came from the factory with a chrome cap/breather assembly. 383/auto car. There is no question about this since I have owned the car since '73 and the original owner is still local and a friend of mine.

My two 69's came with chrome. One was built in 10/68 the other 4/69....
