When I pulled my instrument panel, I found that only one wire was attached to The tachometer, The yellow wire from the sending unit. Is the other connection supposed to have a wire on it? Maybe a ground? This is on a 66 charger.

Looked at a shop manual schematic. It shows only the YELLOW wire to the tach. Looked at spare set of gauges I have, the other terminal on the tach gauge should have a slide on terminal on the threaded stud. It's for the EL lighting power to the tach via the WHITE hi volts wire, common to all 4 gauges.
