Years ago he changed the carburetor, and of course the original wouldn't fit. So for the past twenty plus years, the air cleaner has been in his garage. So I'm prepared to buy it off him. Knowing it won't fit any Demon or the new AFB design carburetors. Is there any adapters available ? A machinist I know say's he can modify it to fit. I'd rather not infringe on the friendship. Any suggestion ?

What I did was use a base plate from a 68/69 4bbl breather with my 67 GTX top on an Edelbrock carb. It basically makes it an unsilenced air cleaner (open underneath outside of the filter, but the stock filter work and no one can tell it from top side.

Weren't some of these early muscle cars, have a bluish gray paint job, on their air cleaners ? I'm thinking 64's ?
