Stupid question time. Is there a good way to crimp the seal retainer for the steering coupler ? I've never had much luck doing it. Always looks like S****t , or just does not stay on. Someone let me know what the trick is to doing this better.

Vise grips, channel locks and a long punch.

I wish I could use that spring clamp retainer. But my car is a 1962, and uses a split clamp with a bolt to hold the coupler onto the steering gear spline. Kind of like a tie-rod clamp. Did not know if I could drill a hole through the bolt so I could use that spring lock. That would be a lot of drilling, through a hardened bolt.
