Finishing up build for a BB 727 with a carbon fiber shield (CSI) going in an Abody drag car and I'm wondering..... whover has done this before me, what was your experience with the dipstick tube?? Original tube work out for you and just add the locking dipstick?? Shorties good? Favorite aftermarket ideas?? Asking specifically cuz the CSI shield looks like is going to add some complexity and I dont have any spares to try until the car comes apart. TIA, Lefty71

I'm waiting for one from mancini. It took them over a week to process the order.
I had to modify a factory dipstick to make my race yesterday..
I'll let you know when I get the new one.

I took a little closer look after I found a spare tube (factory). A shorties not gonna work for sure. It does look like I can cut my mount bracket and alter it somewhat to make it fit. If I can do that, is there a locking dipstick only, or are they all sets?? BTW, Cope (and I think A&A) sell a set specifically for the CSI shield at about $65.00.... two different part #'s whether SB or BB. I should grabbed one from them sooner, but just found that out... I will be curious to see what Bobtile gets from Mancini. Thx

BTW, I did take a look at Mancini before I posted the original message.... I only found solid tubes and no locking units.... However, now i see if you search by manufacturer (Lokar), you can bring up additional results NOT in the transmission section. Tough site sometimes.. /rolls eyes.

I had an old locking stick that I cut the top off of and used that in the factory tube.
The stick itself won't work with the factory tube.
I brought the factory stick with me to check level.
