How long to you guys run your CSR trans shield before replacing it?
Ours has a SFI sticker but nothing saying when it should be replaced.

Thanks

Kevin

Mines going on 12 years now. They want trhem recertified every 5 years but you cant see the tag once installed.

NHRA rules will state when it needs to be re-certified. I hope they never tell me it needs to be recertified because what a pain in the A$$ to install. You can kind of see my certification tag. I'm glad someone else has been running theirs for awhile because I don't ever plan on having it recertified. I don't see why it would need to be if it is never damaged. God forbid but if my trans blows up, I wreak or the engine comes out for a freshen up then I will.

same as seat harness', chassis certs. and racing helmets, its all a money pit to line the pockets of NHRA!:icon_hang::puke:

I agree. That seat harness racket is crap. If it was a 5 year time frame that would be fine but 2yrs is total crap.

My track doesn't really check for much but I be damned if they don't check my belts all the time. My belt is up in Sept 11; my track offers an extended tech at the beginning of the year so I will get it teched and hopefully I can get it by until the end of the year.

Don't get me started...... NHRA is like the Obama adminastration....Everyday it's more regulations and fees.

OOPS did I say that?

Thanks for the replys, Ours is getting dated also and was thinking of having it re certified since the trans is out.

Yea! the seatbelt is total BS.Especially when you buy new ones they are allready 6 mos. old before they are shipped to the vendors. So you are only getting 1.5 yrs.

Somethings wrong there because every harness I ever bought had 3 months better on them. I got a set with July on the tag and it was only April. Go figure.

I guess if the harness certification lasted 5 yrs they would go out of business. It shouldn't cost that much to have them recertified though.

They wouldn't go out of business because no matter how long it is someone will need new belts.
How often does your car seat belts need replaced, or better yet, I wonder if the airlines makes them replace there belts every two years. I'll bet not.

aircraft was 10 years for recertification but will be visually inspected at a scheduled check
