This doesn't belong here but I wanted to share it with you B-Body fans anyhow.I will be installing my wood grain shifter / stereo bezel this weekend and wrapping it in black vinyl. Still undecided as to putting a glove box in console, arm rest area will get extra padding wrapped in vinyl as well.

Looks interesting indeed. Would like to see it when it's in the car. Looks good!

Custom tko 5 speed console

This is made out of light gauge carbon steel tacked together with wire feed and TIG (butt/corner)welded at seams. Then I used riv-nuts to mount bezel and shifter boot. It's coming together quite well, I'll show progress as it happens. This is not a heavy console by any means, I'm pretty pumped about getting my Burl Wood vinyl overlay on the aluminum bezel tomorrow and installing my Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS stereo system with back up camera. I have the padded black vinyl to wrap this in but am contemplating a hinged compartment area with a interior light on back sloped portion of console prior to wrapping. My windows on this Cuda are tinted extremely dark and I have a side view mirror delete thind going on with 4 fused vertebra in my neck so the back up camera was a must!

Ron,
I was just out visiting the green bee today. All the running gear has been aquired and I'm anxiously waiting to get back into it.

Nice craftsmanship, great job!

You will love that pioneer stereo, I have one in my pickup, the blue tooth connection for the phone is great.

custom console closer to being completed

Well, I actually had some time to wipe the dust off of that console that I started making a while back and wrap in in some imitation leather and burl grain vinyl. I'm actually quite happy with the it's turning out. I will be wrapping the arm rest base / console lid tomorrow and then the wiring will begin.
