I'd like to talk with someone that has experience in trimming the end a four speed input shaft.

Does anyone have experience in doing this or can you recommend someone?

I have. Cut it, put a chamfer on it.
Using the big roller pilot bearing?

Or just drill the back of the crank for clearance and don’t ruin the input shaft.

all it is for is room for the input shaft, nothing exact.

I have a cut shaft for an 18 spline 2.65 ratio. I rebuilt the trans to sell and replaced it with one from Brewers. If I was going to use it for myself I would not hesitate to use it. Like said just use the big roller T.O. bearing. Back in the day they would cut them for use behind Chevy as the A833 is way stronger than even a M22 Rock Crusher.
