Dad teaches 10 year old. Hellcat

Lucky kid lol. Father and son fun times he will never forget it

Agreed. But, the pc's are on the way. We are gonna be hammered here. I remember steering the 67 Beetle at 14 like it was yesterday. Apples and oranges of course.

Sure and i remember getting behind the wheel of my dads 48 CJ 2A Willys jeep in a deserted parking lot and learning how to use a clutch, shift and drive. Thats a little different then what is shown in this video...

I remember steering dads falcon down the street sitting on his lap one of my first "car " memories , but against the law over here now

This is a fact. It's a shame how the PC and victimhood cultures have dominated. I still plan to teach my kid to drive around 12-14 depending on his interest/maturity.

Letting a 10 year old do that was not to smart. Posting it online was stupid!

Dad let me drive before I was 10 and I'm betting that kid has been driving for a long time already. For all you know, the kid has probably been running a Jr Dragster for years now.....and I guess we'll find out in due time if it was stupid to post it on line. I taught my kids how to drive well before they could get a license. They started out with go carts but the oldest never got her brain in the right place for it. Even a riding lawn mower was too much for her lol. Some have, and some don't and I wanted to find out early.

Mom used to let me jam the gears on a 3 on the tree when I was that age. Fun times!

There is a reason 10 year olds are not allowed behind the wheel. Doing a burn out makes it even worse. Hell, the kid could not even see over the wheel. Wonder if he'd have been grinning as much if the kid lost it and rolled it or put it through the fence at the end of the road. This could have gone so wrong, so fast, and everyone would be singing a totally different song.

Two years ago a former co-worker went for a Sunday airplane ride and brought his 14 year old daughter along. It was beautiful flying weather. He decided to let her make the approach and landing. They're both dead today. Maybe to a lesser extent there is a bit of a similarity, but the principal is the same, and the outcome could have been as well.

Big difference between go karts and a 700 HP car or sitting on dads lap steering. Sorry, but I just don't see it as good parenting. Just my $0.02

Remember dad taking me out to learn at 16. Parked halfways up the hill with "three on the tree" and he said-"let's go".....

Flying a plane is totally different than driving a car. The comparison....well, there is no comparison. The outcome of crashing a plane is usually disastrous. Doing a burnout....the odds of crashing and killing everyone on board is not nearly as high. As for the go carts, my kids were on them way before 10 years old and were running them with no one else sitting beside them. My youngest probably could have handled the Challenger just fine when she was 10. She was tall enough at least. I was 7 or 8 the first time I drove a car. It wasn't producing 700 hp but nothing much was back in late 50's. The car did have a V8 in it though. Was my dad stupid for letting me drive behind the wheel? It was in a controlled area with no traffic at least and that area with the Challenger looked similar as far as I could see. I've known some 10 year old kids that were more mature than some that were in their 30's! Every situation is different is all I'm saying and we don't know 'his' situation is but if you think anyone that lets their kid drive their car at 10 years old is not smart, so be it. I was already a car nut but my dad letting me drive only lit a fire for my desire to be more of car freak.

Remember the M4 video of the idiot bliping it and driving over the island? Maybe it was his first time. Won't be for the 10 year old.

I'm assuming your talking to me. Your welcome I think it's very important to introduce cars to the younger kids early he comes with me to most every car show and swap meets he even picks his own parts out he wants usually air cleaner s he likes the chrome lids so he has 5 air cleaner lids in his room on the wall he loves them go figure

Kid had fun & learned to do a Burnout by his Dad/Father
FU to the PC crowd
My step dad Bob taught me to do a burnout in our court,
in his 1964 GTO 389 4spd, wouldn't let me do it in the 35 Ford Hotrod...LOL
in Cobblestone ct. Concord Ca, I was about the same age as that kid...
I'll never forget it...
He took me to learn to drive his truck @ Shop & Save parking lot
off of Concord ave. too, cop sitting in the lot watching me drive,
it was about 6 months prior...

I say F--k off to the PC crowd, he was being supervised,
parents involved in the kids life, he won't be a participation trophy wussie !!!
It was private property looked like too...

Of course you wouldn't want to do it on a crowded/busy street...
