Well guys I got a deal yesterday. I picked up a car Dana with pinion snubber for $450.00. The overall hub to hub measurement is said to be 58.5" I have not checked it yet. I plan on installing it in my 66 Satellite. I am going to search out the BOM when I get home. The rearend came out of a racecar so alot of unwanted brackets must cut off. It has a spool with 5:13 gear ratio now but will swap for sure grip and 3:54. I cannot wait to get the monster under the car.

So the measurement for a 66-67 b-body is supposed to be 59 3/8 - 59 1/2 axle flange to axle flange, right? The housing measurement should be 54 1/4. That factor is outside to ouside including the drums, right? I may have gotten super lucky depending on your answers.

Sounds pretty close. I could measure an empty 66-67 housing but yeah, by the time it's loaded, you should be pushing around 59 or so. The 66-67's are a tad shorter than the 68-70 rears....usually by about 3/8" on the average. I've seen a couple that were 1/2" shorter. Btw, what are you going to do with the spool and do you need an stock LSD unit for it. I have a brand new one that I might let go.

try this site it has demensions of a bunch of rear axles, www.bigblockmopar.nl/tech/mopar-rearaxle-deminsions/ ... that may help you possibly... great Dana 60 score.. The link doesn't seem to work properly, click on it anyway, then just go to the tech tab, then rear axle demensions, it will redirect you....

Wow, great deal!!

I just picked up a DANA 60 for $460.00. It's dated 1969, I want to put it in my 66 Coronet. It however has been sitting out in the weather for years. I tore it apart last weekend, not too bad inside, 3:54 trac loc.
I measured the mtg. pads and it's correct for the Coronet. Have AlterKation being made at the moment.

Cranky, I really want a LSD style. Do you want to work a deal? My spool is 35 spline. What spline is your LSD?

It's been awhile since I checked it but I'm pretty sure it's a 35 spline unit.....I'll check again.
