I have bought a Ford Dana 60 (605089-5) from a -82 E-250 Van.
The plan is to build a budget dana 60 for my Roadrunner -70.
I will replace the housing ends and brakes with 8-3/4 style.

The Ford dana has 35 splines, 1970 b-body dana also has 35 splines. Are the splines identical
Can i use stock -70 b-body dana axles or does i have to order special axles ?

Do i have to change pinion yoke or can i use some convert Ujoint?
(7290 on impellershaft)

The differential (see pic) is it a Trak-Lock and will it work in a street car ?

the car has 440, A-833, ported 906. Compcam xr280 roller, ratio 3,33
Any usefull links or threads will be welcomed

Thanks
Bolinder

The axles should be the same O.D. at 1.50"....as for the Trak Lock...I think they are worthless! I have one in my 2000 Durango and it started chattering at 30K miles. I don't remember what the book says to service them at but the dealership said 20K. The book said a lot longer than that. Anyways, I drained the old oil and cleaned out the bottom of the housing. It had a lot of gunk in it. New oil and Trak Lock additive and it was chattering like crazy 5k miles later (5000 miles, not klicks). Another oil change and this time I added half bottle of STP oil treatment. Been working like a charm ever since and it has 80k miles on it now. Still locks up too. My nephew has a Dana 60 in his pickup with one and it's wasted but it does have 280k miles on it...

hi! And welcome, you can buy axles from Cass "DoctoDiff" in any lenght you wish, I just got a pair to mine, I do have a 1970 Dana if you want any measurement I can help you with that, what yoke do you have now, I know there are 1350 to 7290, where are you located in Sweden?

Dealt with a couple shops here in Portland,Or and they used truck and van Dana 60's all the time to build for customer's cars. Matter of fact Dutchman did a number for us a while back and cut axles to fit, no problems.

I will order Moser Engineering A35-68CHRG60 axles and "green bearing kit"
ujoint was a surprise, 2970 fits in yoke. i was sure i had to buy some conversion ujoint
Stp was a good tip
Sven you got PM

Thanks
