Hey Guys,

I am looking to do a complete rebuild of the center section of my Dana 60. There is a noise coming from the center section, so either the berings are going, or the gears were taken out and then not realigned properly.

I've already rulled out out axle berings, since I just replaced them.

Can anyone recommend a good place to get all the parts I need?

I know that at one point Dana 60 axles changed their spline count. Am I correct to assume then that whatever I buy has to be tailored to what axles I currently have, since I do not want to replace them.

Thank you

The axle spline count doesn't matter unless you go into the sure-grip unit to replace parts.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that takes into account all of the clutches as well correct?
I figure if while I'm in the rear, I might as well change everything, since it's all original with over 100k miles.

If you buy clutches you need to know the spline count. You have to pull an axle and count the splines. I've only had 23 spline Danas, you could have 30 or 35. The side gear an side gear retainer are splined also. They should be ok if nobody ran different sized tires on rear. I had one where side gear retainer had some galling it worked ok. Don't know the threshold for when to trash them or resurface them? If you take apart SG unit when you put back together have axles in before you tighten it up. Had a guy setup a rear and I never checked sure-grip to make sure axles when in all the way. Had to make quite a rig up to turn SG to line up splines. Took an hour or so to make rig an 2 mins to line up splines, lesson learned.

Can anyone recommened anyone besides Dr. Diff?

I have no issues with them, I'm just looking for other companies to do price comparisons with. I'm looking for a Dana 60 Bearing Rebuild Kit, Gears, and Sure-Grip Unit.

Thank you!

Dr diff is going to be best bet for factory style brakes, and everything else you listed. Strange, wilwood, aerospace, are some aftermarket brake suppliers

Sorry, not referring to brakes here. I'm referring to the center section components itself.

Just found out that new sure grip units are not made for the earlier danas (23 spline)
