I have a 67 Coronet, I am having a new Dana 60 built, is there any info on how much I can shorten the axle tubes. I know it cant be a lot , a 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch would be good. I do not want to move my leaf springs. I am running on a stock 8 3/4 , 275 60 R15 on 7 in rims. Any suggestions or info is appreciated.

Thanks

What's the Dana out of? It's usually not worth it to only shorten it 1/2 to 3/4"....you can usually get what you need with different offset wheels.

Cranky

It is a new Dana, not yet built. I have Cragers with a 4 .25 Backset, not sure if the Cragers come bigger unless they will do custom. ? But it is a good pont. When I look at the car now, it seems there is about 3/4 to 1 inch between my tire and the leaf springs. , about the same in the upper inside wheel well..

I totally agree with Cranky. Try different offset wheels.
Also try to find a Dana from an early B-Body that will fit correctly
If not have the place you are buying from make it to those specs.

Since you are in Ontario Canada, there is a Person near Ottawa that has an extensive early B-Body Mopar collection he would be a great person to ask.

In order to respect the person privacy and not wanting to break forum rules, if you need any more info please PM and I will help as much as I can.
