So here's the question. I bought this 70 Roadrunner having never been in one or seen one close up. The dash is a rallye cluster w/tictoch tack. There is an aluminum strip that runs underneath the dash pad assembly and fits in front of the guage cluster (on the top). I think this aluminum trim strip was used in non rallye dash clusfers, but I'm not sure. Any info would be appreciated. It's a bugger pulling the guage cluster out with that strip in place.
 
There should be no strip as you describe. You're right about it being used in non rallye dash, at least in Satellites. It should look like this.
