What is the best way to get the dashpad off of my 65 Coronet? Is it bolted on or clips that pull out? Is the 64 dashpad attached the same way? Thanks.

If it is like a 68-69 dash pad, the dash will need to come out as it is bolted in from the inside. Very narrow space with very little room to work.

On my 63 it was held on by clips similar to the clips that hold on the door panels. If I remember correctly there was one bolt that held the left side of the pad near the radio. Good luck.

I had taken the pad out of my '63 Ply some years ago for Just Dashes to refurbish and will have to remove it again as a bubble developed where the adhesive broke down so I can re-adhere it from the back. I don't like the tip I got about using a syringe to poke through with an adhesive. My memory is foggy; but I believe I removed the glove box compartment and the radio to access the connectors; much easier to do and maybe necessary to reach all of them; but could be different given the year. I'll be finding out when I get to this project on the long list!

The 64-65 dash pads are held on with clips across the top of the dash, A polished stainless steel strip is screwed on the bottom!

eric383 is right the lower models (like for the Plymouth Savoy vs. Furys) didn't have padded dashes and other exterior chrome pieces (not sure if these could be had as options on the lower models). Sort of interesting when you do some comparisons...the Fury's hood strip from the ornament was longer than the lower models with the same ornament among other differences as was the Sport Fury having some different appointments over the Fury. I think the lower models didn't have the side strips either. Also the panels on the rear end were an added feature for the Fury's. Not up on the Dodge models; but reckon they had all sorts of different features as well. For the purist a lot to read about!

I have 2 64 Belvederes with out padded dash. I have a pair of Furys and one has a padded dash and one does not. I think the padded dash was an option on all models or in a package.

the dash pad was an option! the upgraded interiors had the pad. Back then though if you checked the boxes you could get just about any thing you wanted or didn't want
