Hi all,

Does the windscreen require removing to remove the dash on a 62 Belvedere . I will be doing an interior colour change and hoping I can remove the dash without removing the windscreen?

Regards
Bryan

Are you discussing removing the bezel/cluster to leave the brow? If so yes.

I’m referring to the whole dash….left to right.

Here’s a photo for reference…

Remove the trim and you should find the bolts along the base of the windshield.I believe 4 more at the corners of the assembly.
It's been awhile since I did one. The glass was in and I was reassembling for a friend and bolted the assembly in.
It was a 63 Belvedere.

I reinstalled the dash in my 1964 Polara after the windshield was installed. In hindsight, I should have done it before. It can be done, but it is very tedious, because of the angle of the glass, and the little pocket that the dash bolts sit in. I had to modify a small socket to fit over the dash bolt, and then crank a 7/16" screw head into it, so I could grab it with a wrench. Then, I could only turn it a quarter turn at a time. Plus, the added worry of the wrench slipping and hitting the glass. I think I only did one bolt per night after supper!

62 dash slants down, bolts are not that difficult to get to once you remove the trim.
A bolt on either side above the kickpanel, and a few bolts/brackets above the pedals.

Must be the difference in cowl and windshield between '62-'63 and '64.
