Hey guys,
I have a '66 Belvedere II that I need to remove and replace the dash and do some re-wiring.
I have already removed the windshield and I see the 5 bolts on the top side of the dash but what else do I need to do to remove the complete dash, heater box, etc.?
Thanks

You will need to disconnect all the wiring and remove the bulkhead connector from the firewall. Disconnect the heater control cables. Pull the steering column. Vent hoses. Then there may well be one bolt in each end going in to the A pillar

In addition, the heater plenium will have attaching bolts that are only accessed through the firewall. There should be 4 as I remember it. This will be a good time to replace the heater core as well as installing new wiper pivots seals. Also when removing the dashboard, you'll have to remove the "A" pillar covers which are removed by taking out the phillips screw that retain them. Drain the coolant too, if you don't want a flood inside you car.

Thanks for the responses, it helped alot, I got the dash and wiring out without any problems.
Next question is does anyone know where to get another wiring harness that will not break the bank?
This is going to be more of a pro street type car so the heater and all will be discarded. I will probably sell the heater box and that type of thing.
Thanks:yes:

No such thing. You could always go with a "Painless" harness which is pretty much a do it yourself kind of thing. Don't skimp. It could keep your car from going up in flames

What about another factory wiring harness that is in good shape or should I go with something like "Painless" or "Ron Francis"?
