Can anyone tell me how to remove the chrome trim on the dash on a '66 Belvedere? I'd like to try to restore it, but I'm not sure how it's fastened to the dash.....clips, screws? Cant really feel anything when I reach up inside, behind the dash.

It is fastened from behind with speed nuts in multiple spots and some epoxy like material in a few spots to prevent noise..

I am at work now but I have dash out of my car and can take pics up close if it would help you....i believe they are 3/8 speed nuts with metal bracket to retain them

They are chromed steel..
Thanks.....It was not fun getting to those nuts blindly, but I got the trim off. I think it'll be even more fun trying to get it back on! Thanks again for going above and beyond with the pics!

I'm glad I could help...been helped many times myself by the other members on here....

If you replace speed nuts with regular ones it will go back on easier and you stand less of a chance wiping out threads on retaining posts.
