date coding

I am in the process of restoring my 69 1/2 superbee to original condition and would like to know excatly what date coding is, and how do I go about getting these parts I need, such as all the drive train parts to start. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

How can anyone be in the process of a restoration and not know what date coding even is?
Not to mention luck out with an A12 Super Bee.
