R.I.P. to One of the icons of NASCAR racing, a true legend. The second greatest driver behind Richard Petty.

I respectfully disagree, I think he WAS the best. With all the respect to Richard for his accomplishments, David in a shorter period of racing was the better. God Bless.

Both of them are/were damn good and knew how to put on a show! He'll be missed. Condolences go out to his family and friends.

He was a fantastic driver. Sad loss for his family but he had a great career.

Was one of the greats, back when cars were called by
Manufacturer names instead of car #.
Miss the days when winning was done by finding
more H/P than the other guys.

When the King refers to you as the greatest driver ever, that says something. the 60's -70's was the Great Era of Nascar. No hair spray, no Twitter, just great men and great racing.

That's sad, my deepest & heartfelt condolences
goes out to his family & friends, even his life long fans
he was an icon, he's 2nd in #'s of wins
only to Richard Petty, in NASCAR

RIP David

“With Pearson, they used to say with about four laps to go, he’d throw his cigarette out the window and you’d better hold on, because the race was about to happen.”

This is when racing was REAL!!!!!!!!
