Being a Florida boy all my life, I have attended many 24hr races there starting in 1966. I really dislike the cold.
Being this past week was rather cold, heading north with no sun and lots of rain was not going to happen for me.
However weather turned around, and it was a great race in all classes even until the very last lap.
Hope you road race fans got to watch it in person or streamed.
Roger Penske at that age is still kicking and winning. Very impressive.
I saw Roger drive in the early 60's and crew chief for Jim Hall's Chapparal win at Sebring 12hr 1965.
The picture below is Ruby & Miles in winners circle at Daytona 24hr 1966.
Ruby is in dark blue jacket looking at camera and Miles is in circular victory reef, it was cold also.
They are sitting on the winning Ford.
